Built for three in the morning.

Most apps want your attention. Ruh wants the opposite: as little screen time as possible, as much calm as needed.

A new nidra every night

Ruh recombines Yoga Nidra building blocks (NSDR) every night — nearly eight thousand variations. Your mind can't predict what comes next, so it follows. And falls asleep.

Breathing that leads

4-7-8, box breathing, extended exhale and more. Gentle tones and haptics guide you — the screen stays off, the phone lies face down.

Stories without suspense

Bedtime stories for adults: a night ferry, an observatory in the snow, a sleeping library. Almost nothing happens. That is exactly why they work.

Fully offline

All content lives on your device. Airplane mode on — Ruh still works. No streaming, no account, no cloud.

Dark and warm

A deep-dark design in warm candlelight tones instead of blue display light. When a session starts, the screen dims by itself.

Ends into sleep

No success fanfare, no "session complete". The voice grows quieter, the pauses longer — and then there is simply silence.

Sound that stays

Deep noise, wind, waves — generated live instead of played back: no loop points, no ending, zero storage. With a timer that fades out silently.

The I'm-awake button

Woke up at night? Three double sighs settle the heart, then a short nidra leads back toward sleep. One tap, no thinking required.

One tap. That's all.

From opening the app to audio in under three seconds — deliberately no choices to make in the middle of the night.

1

Open the app

No login, no splash screens, no news. Just a dark screen with a single circle.

2

Tap once

Ruh has already composed tonight's session — from building blocks you haven't heard in this combination before.

3

Put the phone down

The screen dims and may switch off. The voice stays with you — growing quieter, until you sleep.

NSDR — with a twist.

For those who prefer things sober: the science behind Ruh, no incense required.

What NSDR is

Non-Sleep Deep Rest — the term coined by Stanford neuroscientist Andrew Huberman for practices like Yoga Nidra: the body lies still, breathing slows, the nervous system measurably shifts into recovery mode, and brain activity moves toward slow waves.

Our twist

Classic NSDR ends with a return to wakefulness — right for a midday reset, wrong for three in the morning. Ruh leaves it out: the voice grows quieter, the pauses longer, and the state of deep rest is allowed to tip seamlessly into real sleep.

It cannot fail

Even if you stay awake, your body has had an hour of deep rest instead of an hour of frustration. For hard nights there is the long version: almost two hours, ever quieter, ever fewer words.

Sleep first, decide later.

Everything is open for seven nights — no account, no payment details. Then you decide whether Ruh stays.

Questions that come at night.

What is Yoga Nidra — and is it something esoteric?

Yoga Nidra (also known as NSDR, Non-Sleep Deep Rest) is a guided deep relaxation practiced lying down: a journey through the body, breath awareness, calm imagery. Ruh deliberately uses plain, body-based language — no chakras, no energies, no promises. Just a calm voice that gives your mind something simple to do.

Why does a different session every night matter?

Once you know a recording by heart, your mind stops listening — it keeps thinking alongside. Ruh recombines the building blocks of every session, so you practically never hear the same nidra twice and your attention has no choice but to follow.

Does Ruh work in airplane mode?

Yes, completely. All audio is stored on the device. Ruh never needs an internet connection — not even to start.

Will the app wake me at the end of a session?

No. Classic Yoga Nidra ends with a return to wakefulness — Ruh deliberately leaves it out. The voice grows softer, the pauses longer, and at the end the audio fades out silently. No sound, no vibration, nothing.

Does Ruh collect data about my sleep?

No. Ruh has no account, no analytics and no server. Everything stays on your device. Ruh is a tool, not a tracker.

What is the long nidra?

A session of almost two hours for the hard nights. It begins like a normal nidra and then grows ever quieter: the pauses stretch to several minutes, the sentences shorten, until single words rest in long silence. Most of the time nobody speaks — that is exactly the point.

What about the 44-hertz tone?

Some people swear that deep tones around forty-four hertz help them fall asleep. The scientific evidence for this is thin — we say that honestly. But calm, steady sounds can cover rumination and ambient noise, and if this tone works for you, it is there: a purely generated low tone with a very slow beat, and no mystical promises attached.

Is Ruh a treatment?

No. Ruh is an aid for relaxing and falling asleep and is not a substitute for the diagnosis or treatment of sleep disorders. If you sleep poorly over a longer period, please talk to a doctor.
